Fellowships are awarded to artists who finished their basic studies not more than five years before applying to Akademie Schloss Solitude or who are not older than 35. The Schloss Solitude residence Fellowship. It is expected that thThe following artistic disciplines are represented: architecture (architecture design, urban studies, landscape design), visual arts (including performance art and curatorial practice), performing arts (stage design, directing, dramaturgy, playwriting, dance, acting, musical theater, performance), design (visual communications, fashion, costume, product or furniture design), literature (theory/criticism, essay, poetry, fiction, translation), music/sound (sound installation, sound and music composition, sound and music performance), and video/film/new media (including video installation). e guests spend at least two-thirds of the duration of their scholarship in residence at Schloss Solitude.

One on the primary purposes of The American Watercolor Society is to foster the appreciation of the watercolor media. Such appreciation can be greatly enhanced by the actual experience of painting with watercolor. Therefore AWS has established a scholarship program to give art teachers with little or no experience with watercolor the opportunity to gain such experience. This experience can further enhance their instruction and influence their students to use the watercolor media.

The Bill and Stirling Sage Scholarship provides an $800 annual scholarship for a ceramic artist between the ages of 18-35 who demonstrates merit and exceptional promise who has been selected for a three month summer residency at the Bray. The facilities are wheelchair accessible.

Scholarships for spring and summer are available to a select group of individuals who show a definite monetary need in order to be able to attend a class at Arrowmont. Beginning and advanced students are eligible.

The Steven E. and Carolyn J. Gottlieb Woodcraft Scholarship Fund will provide a financially deserving wood student an all expense paid opportunity to attend Arrowmont. Preference will be given to students 18-23 years of age, but all are encouraged to apply.

Hilton Head Island, as a community, is interested in and supportive of the arts. The Hilton Head Art League Education/Scholarship Program is aimed at encouraging individual students to develop their art skills and pursue their dreams of a career in the visual arts. To that end, the Art League provides scholarship assistance to a qualified student accepted into an art school or college in pursuit of a degree in the visual arts.
