Calling Film and Video Artists

Yollocalli Arts Reach, a youth initiative of the National Museum of Mexican Art, is looking for short films and videos to be screened for our free community night event, La peña.  Next event will be on Friday, February 1st, 2008 from 6-8pm.  Yollocalli is located in Pilsen and encourages all Pilsen artists to submit their work.  Interested artists should email or call and give a brief summary of the work they want to screen.

La peña - In an effort to bring families and communities together, Yollocalli Arts Reach hosts public events every third Friday of the month. Past events include community discussions and family movie nights. To learn more about the events or to collaborate with Yollocalli in hosting an event, please call 312-455-9652 ext. 204.

Organization Description: 

Yollocalli Arts Reach, a youth initiative of the National Museum of Mexican Art, is an arts education and career-training program for youth between the ages of thirteen and twenty-one.  Yollocalli is designed to serve youth and their respective communities by developing students’ appreciation for and understanding of art.  It is committed to the production, interpretation, and exhibition of art and providing an open forum for experimentation, collaboration, and dialogue about issues in the arts, history, and their community. Free classes are held in our Pilsen art studio and in different satellite locations throughout Chicago.
