Selected Artist Stories
It has been very important for me to update my skills on an ongoing basis for a number of different reasons. I have had to seek out new skills to be able to produce just about everything I ever have ever made. The idea I have for a piece drives the materials, processes and techniques I use. Often the work, although conceptually similar with other work I’ve made, will bear little physical resemblance. The process of gaining the knowledge and skills to make the piece becomes part of the work itself.

Archeworks is an alternative design school where students work in multidisciplinary teams with nonprofit partners to create design solutions for social concerns. The Chicago Mosaic School: The first school for Mosaic Arts in the USA. Classes, Workshops, Seminars, Lectures and more. Community classes at the Center for Book and Paper Arts at Columbia College Art classes for children, teens and adults. Little City provides educational and cultural programming for developmentally disabled artists. Programs include the Media Arts Center that provides equipment and support for emerging artists, workshops and artist residencies.
OldTown Art Center offers adult art classes. Undergraduate and Graduate fine art degree courses. The University of Hip-Hop [UHipHop] is a multidisciplinary school of the street arts which offers courses in dee-jaying, rap, graffiti and mural arts, and break-dancing. The Vitruvian School of Art is a new studio school in Chicago committed to providing developing artists with thoughtful instruction in the classical academic tradition. The ACTLab at the University of Texas teaches hands-on new media artwork creation techniques (digital video, audio, performance and theory), at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
