Chicago Artists Month 2006

Beyond Boundaries

Chicago's 11th annual celebration of its dynamic and diverse visual arts community begins the first weekend in October and continues throughout the month.  Chicago Artists Month (CAM) lets people meet and experience the work of sculptors, photographers, painters, new media artists, and more -- in their studios and in galleries, workshops, tours and neighborhood artwalks all over town.

This year's theme "Beyond Boundaries," explores how artists reach beyond boundaries of geography, ethnicity, tradition, media or other perceived limitations through art, as they continually expand their personal and artistic visions and horizons.

The Chicago Artists Resource features a complete calender of CAM events.  CAM is presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs in collaboration with 250 program partners. Chicago Artists Month raises public awareness about Chicago-based visual artists by providing opportunities to meet them and see their work at locations throughout the City.
