Learning about Chicago's art scene

My general impression about the Chicago art scene is that it is diverse and accessible. It can be overwhelming to learn about all of the different galleries, alternative spaces, funding sources, and resources in general. But if you begin by just going to openings or lectures here and there, you begin to meet people and learn more.

New York's oldest nonprofit gallery, offering exhibitions and services for visual artists. Artists may apply for inclusion in their curated online slide and video file. Concentrated on NYC artists, but some out-of-town artists are represented.
