Call for Proposals - Conference / Australia

Call Type:

Deadline Type:
fixed
Deadline:
10/1/2010
Eligibility:

  • Individual and Group Exhibitions
If you have works that you would like to put forward as part of the curated exhibition component of the conference, then submit a proposal for consideration by the Steering Committee. If your submission is accepted, the works will be exhibited within the Faculty of Art and Design building together with all other approved submissions. Upon notification of acceptance, you will be advised whether you need to amend your proposal to fit your allocated space. Exhibition period is for the duration of the conference only.
  • Academic Poster Presentations
The Academic Poster Presentation section is an informally grouped presentation in a designated room, and is literally a poster produced by you that is pinned up on the wall behind a small table, which promotes your particular research project. You then stand next to it and speak about the work, as it is described in an abbreviated form in the poster, to whomever walks by and is interested. You would probably have your laptop with you to show visuals. This is not a curated event. Duration of this event is to be confirmed.
  • Open Portfolios
The Open Portfolio section is the same informal group set-up as the Academic Poster Presentation. However, instead of a poster, presenters must brought along a portfolio of their work for visitors to flip through, or a laptop that displays their images. It provides an overview of someone's artistic oeuvre and skill rather than focussed one specific research project. Again, you will need to be there with your folio/laptop to speak to people as they wander by. This is not a curated event. Duration of this event is to be confirmed.
  • Demonstrations and Workshops
Demonstrations and workshops incorporating or related to printing from any discipline (with an emphasis on new and unusual techniques) will be open to the public and held throughout the conference period. These will be listed on the website in due course.
  • Master Classes
For international conference delegates who are interested in sharing their expertise and artist practice, and seeing Australia's beautiful countryside, the Print Council of Australia has a list of arts venues interested in hosting Master Classes (lectures and/or workshops) throughout the State of Victoria and potentially elsewhere within Australia.

For information on the conference theme and topics, please refer to Conference Theme & Topics.
