LIP (Life in Progress): LIP asks local artists to explore definitions of progress, visions of progress, or critiques of "progress", as well as how we progress (in our work, in our art, in our communities, as human beings, in the world, in the city, etc.). During Chicago Artists Month, LIP is showcasing the answers through curated group exhibitions of visual art, a screening of video/film and a public open studio/art-making day (we invite the public into the process of making art with us). The selected venues for LIP are also part of the current everyday landscape of Logan Square, i.e regular places, bars, cafes, empty storefronts and not a traditional gallery settings.
AnySquared is an artist collaborative: participating members are Thommas Berbas, Tracy Kostenbader, Maria Hummel, Mendy Newman, Iris Iris Pasic, Julia Rochholz, Ryan Scheidt, Brett Swinney and others. For more information about AnySquared, visit www.AnySquared.com or email projects@anysquared.com.
