The National Pastime Theater is a 1920's ballroom turned Speakeasy in 1923 has just been remodeled. Brand New Beautiful Facade and Wheel Chair accessible restrooms. Very large dressing rooms with private restroom. Elegant and historic she is great for live theater, acoustic music, weddings, parties and classes. The National Pastime Theater is beautiful and unique. We are a well know venue, with nearly twenty years in this location and 300 guest companies.
 
We are very well equipped and have a considerate and knowledgeable staff. Included equipment for theatrical production follows. Lighting: ETC Express programmable lighting board. 24 Strand dimmers at 1.2 K per., associated cable, 14 ellipsoidals (3 source fours) the others Altman, 14 Altman fresnels (6'). Audio: EV speakers dead hung over stage, 18" JBL subwoofer in a concrete enclosure under seating, Crown and EV amplifiers, Beringher Electronic Crossover and 16 channel mixing board with phantom power, Denon pro dual CD player with wired remote control panel. Furman power. All in Racks. Much more additional equipment (Lighting, Audio, Video) available at a very reasonable cost.

Very Baroque/Olde Time, this place is a documented authentic old speakeasy from the early 1920s (Built as a ballroom and transformed in 1923). It is also of the larger store front theaters available in Chicago. NPT is in a very nice and safe north side neighborhood on a primary thoroughfare;  Broadway in the 4100 N. block.  For Public Transportation the Broadway 36 bus stops in front of our doors, the CTA Redline is three blocks away, also we are one bock from 151, 143 buses and others. Paid parking is one block away and street parking is often present. The National Pastime Theater is definitely one the most accessible theatres in Chicago. Rehearsal time is available. With notice we are fully prepared for show load in. 

PrimeTime, Late-night and off night theatrical production slots available immediately. Theatrical Production Rates range from $275 to $500 per night, depending on run length and schedule. Single night events more. Consider us for your next production. Rehearsal time is $20 per hour.
 
We are also very interested in having a few production/theatre companies make us their home and produce full seasons in the space at a discounted rate.
