WEDNESDAY APRIL 7th!

F Yeah Arts!, a Student Arts Club at Western Washington University, seeks entries for a national juried competition entitled "You Want Some of This?" at the Corridor Gallery in Seattle, WA. All 2-D mediums will be considered, including but not limited to works on paper, canvas, and photography of all forms. "You Want Some of This?" is an all-encompassing thematic exhibition which poses the questions: How are you contributing to and changing the world? What makes that change or contribution significant? You tell us what that means. Give it to us. We want it.

The exhibition will be juried by Keith Boadwee, who has been widely acclaimed for his controversial and progressive style. He studied at UCLA, and he has shown work in the Venice Bienniale, the New Museum's Bad Girls exhibition in New York and the Los Angeles Portfolio of Photography curated by Cindy Sherman.

Three winners and 20 honorable mentions will be featured in an exhibition at the Corridor Gallery located in the Tashiro Kaplan Building in Pioneer Square, Seattle, WA. This will also include an opening reception during Seattle's First Thursday Art Walk. The three winners each will have three pieces selected to be shown in the exhibition; the honorable mentions each will have one piece on display. Winners will be notified by April 30, 2010.

Organization Description:

"F yeah: Let's be professional artists" is a club that concentrates on strengthening the local art community at WWU. We are dedicated artists who understand the importance of dialogue within the art community, and will create an open space for artists to show their work and receive feedback. Through the use of critiques, trips to Seattle's first Thursday art walks, and Philadelphia's Society of Photographic Educators (SPE) conference we will help each other strengthen our work and promote it in the community.
