Downbeat Studio Artist/Musician Residency Program
Submitted by downbeatstudio on Sun, 02/21/2010 - 10:21pm.

How it will work:The residency program will allow the artist or group full access to studio, studio equipment, musical equipment and James Beesley for engineering. A schedule of 3-4 nights/late nights a week for an entire month will allow you to come in and record/write and still have that full time day job. The nights will be scheduled in 3-5 hour blocks. As resident you will also receive free mixing and mastering of your project once it is finished. You will also to be able to store your gear in the space for the month while you have residency. We will be charging a flat rate of $500 a month for the residency. You will be getting up to 50 hrs of recording/studio time and mixing/mastering for $500! That's a rate of $10 an hour!
This is a way to get bands that I really enjoy into the studio.
The residency idea stemmed from previously being in a band that found it hard to hold down a day job and find the money needed to record. It'll be a great way to get a good recording for a reasonable cost and get to spend time doing it. Please email me if you have any questions or would like to participate in the residency program. I hope we can get some great unique Chicago artists and musicians to become a part of the program.
Currently Unique Chique is trying our first run at the residency.
Check out their myspace and ask them how they are liking it!
