In celebration of their 70th anniversary South Side Community Art Center presents Off the Wall & Onto the Stage: Dancing To The Art of Jonathan Green, choreographed by William Starrett and performed by the Columbia City Ballet, translates 22 extraordinary paintings by artist Jonathan Green to the contemporary stage blending dance, music and fine art, while telling a story of the Gullah culture. The costumes, landscapes and the people in Green's works come to life in classical ballet, African and jazz dance set to music rooted in the history of the Gullah culture, including gospel, jazz, folk songs and hymns.
