SuburbsPop-Up Art Loop is offering you the opportunity to showcase your work in exciting and unique new exhibition sites in the heart of Chicago’s Loop. The series is currently seeking proposals from artists and curators for our 2010 Pop-Up Art Loop gallery locations.
How it Works
Unlike traditional galleries, Chicago Loop Alliance’s Pop-Up Art Loop does not own or rent gallery space. Instead, they secure temporary exhibition sites inside vacant storefronts and public spaces. The locations range from windows that may be viewed 24/7 to storefront and interior spaces. The program began in 2009 with the plan to regularly add new exhibition sites throughout Chicago’s central business district throughout 2010. There is no entry fee or rental fee to the artist. Each space is available thanks to the generosity of Loop property owners and the Chicago Loop Alliance.
Pop-Up Art Loop is looking for artwork in a variety of media from individuals and groups:
- 2D visual art
- Installations
- Sculpture
- Live Art
- Video or new media
Selection Process
All interested artists must first submit a complete application (find it at www.PopUpArtLoop.com). These proposals are then reviewed by an independent committee made up of local art professionals and leaders in the art community. If selected, artists are then matched with a space that meets their needs/requirements as it becomes available.
Application Procedure
To be considered, please complete the application form and return it by email to artsubmissions@PopUpArtLoop.com. Email is the preferred method.
