JCC Camp Chi is the Midwest's premier Jewish overnight camp located on 600 acres near the Wisconsin Dells. Camp Chi provides a summer community for boys and girls ages 8-16 to create lifelong friendships, participate in all that camp has to offer, and experience personal growth and development. Chi’s facilities are among the best in the country with six tennis courts, two outdoor pools, private lake, an indoor gym and fitness center, ropes course, 47' climbing wall, amphitheater, equestrian center, fine arts studio, staff lounge and much more. Camp Chi's art program includes photography, metals, ceramics, drawing & painting, jewelry making, woodworking, stained glass and general arts and crafts. The Art Center is a great place to work.
We look to hire a team of people who can teach in multiple media where we offer instruction. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Art education students preferred but not required. Applicants should have experience working with children and an interest in working in a camp setting. Applications are available at www.campchi.com/jobs.
Particular job responsibilities include: -Designing and carrying out creative, age-appropriate lesson plans for each class; -Coordinating with counselors to plan arts activities for cabin groups; -Developing new projects and activities; -Implementing safety rules and procedures; -Working with Arts Specialty Supervisor to ensure activities are meeting goals; -Maintaining equipment and supplies; -Supervising other staff; and -Assisting in other areas of the camp program, including cabin life, evening programs, and special events.
Compensation: Activity Specialists must be available June 13 - August 13, 2010. Compensation packages include room and board, and are based on the individual applicant’s education, experience, and level of responsibility. Opportunities for internships and field placements may be available.

Skills & Qualifications: 

Desired Qualifications: All Arts Specialists should have great organizations skills, and be patient, imaginative, and enthusiastic. Extensive experience and knowledge of a particular arts area is required.
All camp staff must have experience and a genuine interest in working with children. The best staff members work successfully in a team environment and independently, communicate well with children of varying ages and skill levels, demonstrate sound judgment, and show good character. In addition, camp staff need to have visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to their activities.
