Victor A. Lopez - Artist Statement
My abstractions originate from a desire to create and explore the possible dynamics between line, color, shape and grace. The driving force behind this passion for painting is the process of the act rather than the end result or outcome and has been motivated by continuously reinventing myself through my art. My paintings take shape through layers of color and line drawings painted intuitively at the start of every piece, which remain as the structure and subject being painted throughout a workʼs completion. Each line is based on the previous one, and comes to life through impulsive color combinations and artistic decision-making. Although I do not intentionally refer to actual objects or figures, subconscious association of shapes and outlined forms sometimes suggest them. I am inexplicably drawn to the endeavor of creating tension on the canvas and then working steadily to resolve it.

Erik DeBat - Artist Statement
DeBat considers his artwork contemporary urban canvases where he enjoys commenting on society and things he loves. His work is borne from the energy of life around him. The artwork and installations are driven by popular culture, punk rock, and fashion. His use of symmetries and colors intuitively transcend throughout his work with the use of photography, typography, drawing and printing techniques. "Art making, for me begins with subconsciously capturing the energy around me and working to interpret popular culture into what is inspiring me. I like symmetries and an organic design method. I use color, image, movement, drawing, and type to help achieve my visual ideas."
