The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University invites applications for an entry-level Assistant Professor of Drawing/Life Drawing/Figurative 2D Art. This position is a tenure track position starting in August 2009.
Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

Requirements: Teach two courses per semester at the introductory to advanced undergraduate and graduate levels in life drawing, drawing, illustrations, and other media as determined by departmental needs. Coordinate life drawing courses. Continuing active exhibition creative work and/or publication of research is expected, as is participation in departmental, college and university service.

Qualifications: MFA degree in Studio Art or closely related field required. Strong background in figurative drawing and national exhibition desired. Equivalent degrees will be considered. Three years university-level teaching experience beyond teaching assistantship preferred. Successful candidate will have knowledge of contemporary theory/criticism and contemporary practice in drawing and studio art.
