As part of the Hybrid Realities Lecture Series at the School of the Art Institute, Alison Bechdel will present her work. Author of the critically acclaimed Fun Home (called "one of the very best graphic novels ever" in Booklist) and of the syndicated comic strip Dykes to Watch OutFor, has become a cultural institution for lesbians and discerning non-lesbians around the world. At the podium, Bechdel redefines race and gender roles while taking aim at some of the most controversial topics of the day.
The lecture will take place Wednesday at 6pm in the SAIC Auditorium, 280 S Columbus Drive.
Admission: $5 per person for the general public; $3 per person for SAIC alumni, non-SAIC students, and seniors; and FREE for students, faculty, and staff of the Art Institute of Chicago.
