ABOUT THE VIDEOHOLICA 08

This year for the first time the Varna International Biennial of Visual Arts AUGUST IN ART presents a video program - VIDEOHOLICA 08.

VIDEOHOLICA 2008 will take place in Varna for the period of 8 -15 August 2008.

For the first edition of the VIDEOHOLICA had submitted 357 art works of 224 artists from 49 countries.
The selection made by the curators Tzvetan Krastev and Neno Belchev presents 210 videos by the 187 artists by Austria., Australia, Algeria, England, Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Venezuela, Ecuador, Germany, Greece, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Israel, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, China, Colombia, Congo-Brasevil, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Rumania, Russia, USA, Senegal, Singapore, Serbia, Taiwan, Turkey, Hungary, Finland, France, The Netherlands, Chile, Switzerland, Sweden, Scotland, South Korea And Japan.

The biennial August in Art is conceptualized as a larger and broader than life review of contemporary processes in the visual art, tolerant of the stylistic variances in it, evading the favoring of a single trend or tendency. The various exhibitions in different museums, galleries and non-standard spaces, the everyday presentations, artistic activities, meetings of colleagues and create this specific and discussions, the musical, theatrical and literary salons, enriching the program, create this specific and wanted festive atmosphere and offer the artistic circles and audiences meaningful spiritual experience.
