Chicago-CitySubmit work to a Community Mural in Bucktown along the Bloomingdale Viaduct and become a part of The Great Wall of Chicago, which will be, at its completion, the single longest running mural in Chicago.
In collaboration between artists and local condo association, over 300 ft long and 20 ft tall, the panels will embody the theme:
"Transformation of Chicago's land, air, water and community"
Consider Chicago from the lakefront, to the landscape, the people who settled here, the people before them, and the faces of our community today. What changes have you noticed? What changes came before you?Buildings, boats, flora, fauna, leaders, and locals- Be creative, considerate, and colorful with your submissions as they reflect on Chicago's rich natural and cultural history. Accepted artists will be working with Cooperative Image Group, local youth arts organization, Stef Garland, mural coordinator, and each other, in what will be a true community effort to beautify and engage Chicago's neighborhoods.Compensation will be discussed upon acceptance. Please submit as many scenes as you like. Deadline is July 29th. Notification of acceptance will be August 5th. Project is expected to be completed by mid-September.
