The Coordinator of Art Labs/Instructor is responsible for maintaining the studios and activities for the Department of Art Theory and Practice. This incumbent also supports the department by providing administrative support to the Department Assistant.

Specific Responsibilities: Maintaining studios in all media including painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and multi-use studios, as well as maintaining the graduate studios; Keeping track of studios open during evening and weekend hours; Training and overseeing graduate student studio attendants; Ensuring that all users are trained and adhere to studio rules and regulations and follow proper guidelines for using power tools; Maintaining inventories and purchasing studio supplies; Maintaining the large format printer and coordinating student printing and payments; Training and assisting students in printing; Providing area-specific orientations for part time faculty; Coordinating shows, missions, framing, hanging and return of work for the WCAS undergraduate exhibition; Coordinating ongoing studio renovations with WCAS and NU Facilities; Providing administrative support to Department Assistant; Performing other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor`s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired; 3 - 5 years Art Studio experience with multiple media.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Art; Strong teaching skills; Experience with multiple media including painting, printmaking, sculpture, woodshop and photography.
