Universities and colleges offer a myriad of opportunities for the visual artist. Many of the larger academic institutions have museums as well as several smaller galleries. There are currently 140+ art museum members of the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries and another 140+ art gallery members. These numbers don’t include the university and college exhibition spaces not affiliated with the organization, including most community colleges and student-run galleries.
