Our Career Services department is current seeking a Graduate Employment Advisor. The Graduate Employment Advisor meets the placement goals of assigned graduates. Additionally, he or she develops employment opportunities for graduates via industry networking, involvement in professional organizations, development of industry partnerships for the department and school, direct mail campaigns and direct referrals to the employer base. The Graduate Employment Advisor must assure that the EDMC philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.

Key Job Elements:

Meets individual placement and average salary targets as indicated in quarterly plans within six months of graduation, and meets overall department placement and average salary targets on annual basis.

Develops, tracks, reports and documents graduate employment program, graduate profiles, success stories, and employment progress. Plans and conducts employer visits and on-campus recruiting meeting targets according to individual quarterly plan. Educates employers on curriculum and competitive compensation.

Plans and conducts marketing calls and direct mail marketing follow-up. Actively and routinely seeks employer feedback and researches industry trends, and shares this information when appropriate to aid in the development / enhancement of curriculum and successful outcomes for graduates. Advisor is an active member of the Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) for the program(s) advised.

Schedules, conducts, and documents exit interviews with each pending graduate assigned, including approval of resume for graduation and portfolio presentation as appropriate. Advisor builds relationship with graduates which foster trust, respect and partnership in the job search process. Coaches ILIC graduates and students on career search strategies, personal marketing, interview skills, self-promotion methods and materials.

Bachelors degree in business, marketing, commercial art, or related field. Two years experience in placement/search firm, career counseling or industry-related position, and at least one year experience in a marketing or field-related environment is preferred.

Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, including sales/persuasive abilities and the ability to build successful relationships with industry and graduates.

Knowledge of the game art and / or animation industry – a plus.
