FIGHT OR FLIGHT
Fight: Ability, will, or inclination to combat. To contend vigorously; strive.
Flight: An act or instance of fleeing. A transcending of the ordinary bounds of the mind: flight of fancy.
The visual examination of how humans respond to fear. The idea of a visual response in tandem with written work will communicate a strong sense of personal connection to what people are afraid of in their lives as well as the contrast between personal interpretations of harm or panic.
The show will consist of a range of two-dimensional, video, and installation, and performance works to represent fight or flight. There should be a strong sense of emotion captured through various media. Works should express a sense of primal nature including violence, cruelty, weakness, gratification, and vulnerability. The visual side of the show will compliment and show a different interpretation from written works.
