Brad Temkin Gallery Talk

Event Type:
Lecture
Thursday, June 19, 2008 12:15pm
Sofia Zutautas, Assistant Curator of Exhibitions at the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, discusses Temkin's work.

Brad Temkin is a Chicago-based photographer who works internationally and has shown his works widely. This exhibition presents a combination of two series of his recent large-scale photographs: Relics and Focal Points. His compositions build on a sculptural foundation that integrates the “found” object and the vast, mundane landscape.

Thus, Temkin transforms these forms into strangely beautiful and monumental “earth works” that exist in a timeless realm of their own, or simply evoke familiar places seen in a new way. Organized by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. Generous support for this exhibition is provided by Museo Fine Art, an American manufacturer of digital fine art papers, Artists' Frame Service and Columbia College Chicago.
