ARTIST PENSION TRUST Phone: (212)871-1012 Fax: (212)871-1015 Email: |
Artist Pension Trust was designed to meet the specific needs of artists, a group whose career trajectories and employment patterns make existing pension programs inaccessible. APT is a barter-based program; therefore, artists contribute works of art - rather than cash - to their pension trust. Over a 20-year period, each artist invests 20 works in their individual Trust. He/She will start to receive income 20 years after the inception of their Trust. A series of Artist Pension Trusts, each comprised of 250 artists, are being formed in regions throughout the US and in leading centers of contemporary art around the world. Selection committees comprised of professionals with regional and national expertise are responsible for selecting the artists that will participate in each APT. The selection committee meets quarterly to review applicants and select new participants. For more information on the Artist Pension Trust, the selection committee, and the participating artists, please visit the APT's web site at: www.artistpensiontrust.org.
