Initiated in 1996, the program pairs professional artists with classroom teachers in public schools to teach curriculum-based arts education. While imparting basic arts techniques, appreciation and creative problem solving skills to schoolchildren, the artists develop teaching and community building expertise as well. To date this program has served over 2200 students in six schools, and trained nearly 100 artists.

The Residency Program provides subsidized live and work space for organizations and individuals, a stimulating and supportive environment, free administrative consultation services, and a co-op that includes office equipment, volunteers, and meeting/event facilities.

Artists bring unique skills to the process of building and help us create vibrant, inviting places that resonate with meaning. The 4Culture ARTIST REGISTRY is a comprehensive source of pre-qualified artists prepared to realize both public and private art commissions. Juried by a panel of peer professionals, each artist's work meets rigorous standards of quality and expertise.

King County artists, ensembles and arts organizations are invited to apply with site-specific proposals to occur in suburban and/or rural King County. Artists are encouraged to explore non-traditional sites or unexpected locations in one or multiple suburban and/or rural King County communities and to create work that is specific or relevant to that locale. These performances may be publicized in advance or they may be designed to catch audiences by surprise. Audience members will encounter art in new and unexpected ways that challenge their notion of how art intersects with their lives and heightens their awareness of their surrounding environment.

The King County Arts Commission's Special Projects Program encourages greater public access to the arts throughout King County. Projects and applicants selected for funding reflect the cultural and geographic diversity of King County.

The Heritage Special Projects Program prioritizes the identification, collection, documentation, restoration and interpretation of King County's unique history. The Special Projects Program supports projects which document, preserve, and interpret King County's history and heritage.

Arts 4Culture promotes performing arts and artists in King County all year long through the publication and distribution of the Touring Arts Roster, a juried directory of some of King County's most talented performing artists who are all available for regional bookings.
