A competition for pre-college-aged student violinists. The entering student or his/her teacher must be a member of ASTA. Joseph Nagyvary, of Nagyvary Violins in College Station, Texas, will donate one violin valued at $10,000 to the winning soloist.

A competition for pre-college through college-aged student bassists. Applicant or his/her teacher must be a member of ASTA. The Linear Kontrabass Workshop will donate two double basses to the first and second-place winners.

Supports playing excellence in aspiring and under-resourced school and studio music programs. CodaBow International, Ltd. will donate approximately $5,000 worth of full-size CodaBow Aspire violin, viola, or cello bows annually to deserving schools and studios. Applications must be made by ASTA with NSOA members in good standing on behalf of schools or studios.

STUDENTS MUST BE NOMINATED BY ASTA MEMBERS. Dalton Potter, owner of Potter's Violins in Bethesda, Maryland, donates six Rudolf Doetsch instruments annually to students in need. Three instruments--violins, violas, or cellos of any size--will be awarded each round. Applications are accepted on behalf of students (elementary up to high school) from ASTA with NSOA members who outline the particular worthiness and promise of a student.

Four general Artist Equipment Awards. These grants are $3,500 worth of access to BAVC's state-of-the-art media facility and education programs. $2500 may go towards suites and services and $1000 may go towards BAVC classes.

The Center for Book Arts invites applications for its Letterpress Printing & Fine Press Publishing Seminar For Emerging Writers. The seminar is tuition free for participants. Participants will hear lectures from various professionals in the field – printers, poetpublishers, book artists, dealers and collectors, to get a practical overview of letterpress printing and fine press publishing. Learn the basics of letterpress printing, both traditional typesetting and options with new technology, by collaboratively printing a poem as a broadside or small chapbook project. Finalists may be interviewed or asked to provide supplemental information to their applications to help us make final decisions.

Competition that awards a commercially distributed new compact disc recording grant, featuring the performance of several composers' works. The winner will be eligible for public exposure through articles in prestigious publications, reviews and appearances.

The Fade In: Screenwriting Awards were established in 1996 to assist talented new writers and writer/directors in getting recognized within the Hollywood community in order to begin a career as a working filmmaker.

The Harvestworks Artist In Residence Program offers commissions of up to $4000 to make a new work in our state of the art digital media facility. Each artist receives a $700 fee with the balance of the award posted in a "facilities account" which is used to manage and produce the work. The artist works with a team comprised of a project manager, engineer and programmer (if required). Work produced in the program is premiered in the Harvestworks' 5.1 Presentation Lab. Residents are also included in Creative Contact, an Internet compilation of digital artwork on the Harvestworks website.

Harvestworks offers unpaid internships with a minimum commitment of 120 hours, working one day a week. In return for time worked, interns can take up to two classes in our education program (pending availability), take part in our "Interns Teach Interns" program, and receive access to lab equipment free of charge.

The Artist in Residency at HOME, Inc. offers a three month to six month residency which may be renewable for an additional six months upon mutual agreement. The Residency provides free access to HOME’s video production facilities at the Bates Art Center. Facilities include HOME’s on-line editing room, AVID Media Composer, version 10.02 with two channels of uncompressed video and real time effects. Additional equipment includes Betacam SP editing deck, and DVCAM and Betacam camcorders, a camera boom, wireless microphones, fluid head tripods, lights etc.

The IMAGE Access Program provides access to state-of-the-art production and post-production equipment and facilities at significant discounts from many of Atlanta's top companies.

Supports artists working creatively with sound. Up to eight artists/artist teams are awarded twenty hours of studio recording and production time with a Jack Straw engineer. An additional eight to ten artists/artist teams receive matching awards for studio time.

Each year Kala chooses eight artists from a variety of disciplines such as traditional and digital printmaking, book arts, photography, film, video, and installation art.
