Audition Location: About Face Theatre Administrative Offices, 1222 W. Wilson.

The Element New Plays Festival is seeking actors of all ages and ethnicities for its unique, challenging week of collaboration with emerging playwrights and their work. We’re looking for talented, adaptable people to perform in staged readings of plays-in-progress for Chicago audiences and theater professionals – while helping playwrights see their work in a new light. You will work closely with a playwright, a director and a cast to faithfully and energetically represent a new play as it undergoes revision based on the discoveries made by the director, actors, and writer during the workshopping/rehearsal process. The focus is not on polishing a production, but continuing to improve and understand the piece. For more information, go to www.elementtheater.weebly.com

Time Commitment: A 24 hour lock in period starting April 18th and ending on the 19th. Workshop/rehearsal

process April 20th-22nd from 6pm- 10pm and a staged reading the evenings of the 23rd-24th.

Material to Prepare: Please prepare a 90 second contemporary monologue, and bring 2 copies of your headshot and resume.
