Jablonski! is John Sviokla and Sherra Lasley performing sketch comedy
at it’s finest. Raw, vulnerable, biting comedy that provokes laughter
and thought in equal proportions.
Sherra Lasley
Originally
from Iowa, Sherra Lasley started performing at an early age, doing many
shows at the three theatres in the state. Since arriving in Chicago,
she has studied improv at the Second City and iO Theater, eventually
performing with the iO Harold teams Skeleton Attack and Go-Go
Manifesto. She also became a member of sketch comedy group Grandma
June's Sewing Circle, where she met her future comedy husband, John
"Svi" Sviokla. When the group went on hiatus, the two felt their
comedic views were just starting to blossom and formed Jablonski!
Sherra can also currently be seen performing and drinking with the cast
of
Bye Bye Liver: The Chicago Drinking Play, in an open run at the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts.
John Sviokla
Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, John
Sviokla is an an accomplished writer, performer, director and waiter.
He has been involved with various incarnations of innumerable groups
in Chicago and Boston, including "Cornered By Squirrels," a
Loyola-based improv and sketch troupe which was loved by audiences,
lauded by critics, and litigated in 2004 for slander by Jesse Jackson
and the Rainbow Coalition, after an all-white performance of
Raisin in the Sun. As it turns out, the Reverend has considerably strong objections to the theatrical use of color blind casting.
