C.I.C.E.R. is a residency program which encourages creative exchanges between international persons of cultural interest and Cape Verdean Creatives.

Each year we invite five individuals whose backgrounds demonstrate histories of cultural productivity to join us in the Island of Santiago, Cape Verde, for a five week collective project. The Collective’s chosen methods of exposition are then shared with the different communities of the Islands.

Along side the Collective’s expeditions residents are provided with the space and time to also develop and explore their own reasons for wanting to experience the islands and the cultures of Cape Verde

Time Commitment: Rehearsals will run March-April (exact days/times TBD). Performances at Gorilla Tango Theatre, Wednesdays at 7:30pm May 9 – June 27, 2012, with possible extension.

Material To Prepare: Please prepare 60-second comedic monologue, and 16 bars of whatever you do best. An accompanist will be provided; please bring sheet music (you may also bring your own accompanist, if preferred). CD/ipod will also be available if you prefer. Please bring an additional H/R to audition and come prepared to give us information about potential conflicts.

Description: Fury Theater Company announces open auditions for its upcoming production of two original short plays, "Seven Points for 'Love'" and "Voices in the Dark" written and directed by Ellen Cribbs. Both shows are to be performed together.

"Seven Points for 'Love'" is a romantic comedy following a man who proposes to his girlfriend on a Scrabble board.
"Voices in the Dark" is a dark love story following two sets of couples trying to get a fresh start out of life.

Actors may be cast in both shows.

Actors will receive a percentage of the profits made on the performances.

Geopolis Theater Company looking to fill two roles for our upcoming production of "The Meteor" by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, directed by Eric Turner

The Play:

“The Meteor” is a two-act farce about a man that wants to die, but can’t. In his distress, he returns to the place of his creative birth to seek release, but is foiled again and again no thanks to the constant interruptions by the troupe of people that he has encountered in his life. Though he cannot die, those that come in contact with him don’t have as much luck!

The Cast:

We are looking for two women between 20 - 30. One role is central, the other is an understudy position with gauranteed performances. Rehearsal requirments for the understudy will be less than for the central players.

As this is a farce, we prefer actors with strong physical performance abilities.

The Schedule:

Rehearsals will begin the week of January 30 and will primarily be at night.

The run of the show will begin March 15 and will go until April 15.

ANTI is an international contemporary arts festival presenting site-specific works made for public space. Over the past 10 years ANTI has presented live, sonic, visual and text-based art from today’s most exciting and innovative artists. A truly international festival and Finland’s foremost presenter of Live Art, ANTI is a meeting place for artists and audiences fascinated by how art shapes the spaces of everyday life.

We are looking for innovative and exciting live art works for children. ANTI has a long history of presenting ground breaking projects for children and this year our annual call out is focused on finding something truly inspiring. We especially invite proposals from contemporary performance makers who have not made. work for children before but would like to produce something for a young audience. In previous years companies and artists like Gwendoline Robin, Lone Twin and Mammalian Diving Reflex have presented outstanding work for children at ANTI. That’s the tradition we want to continue: great work made by great contemporary artists for children.

Your project can take any form – it may be participatory and children do something with you, or it might be something a young audience encounters by surprise, or anything in between. Your project may last 30 minutes or seven days. It may be for an audience of one, or hundreds and projects should be targeted at specific age groups – from new-borns to teenagers.

ANTI is a site-specific festival – we do not show work in traditional art spaces, neither do we show touring street theatre: all our projects have a direct relationship with the spaces and places they are shown in. When proposing a project please make it very clear where your project would ideally be located, and why.

Partcipation is free.

Between all submitted videos, will be done a final selection based on vote of a Jury composed by experts. The 30 selected artworks will become part of CAM permanent collection.

The possible selection by Jury is in any case subordinate at an essential condition for the proclaim of winners: the author of selected video must send, via ordinary mail, and within midnight of March, 15 2012, the donation act to CAM of the copy of his/her own video, and the hard copy on DVD itself. The Rock & The Ripe (a new play about the bullied and bruised gay youth of America) is a fresh project and LGBT rights movement coming to Link's Hall (Sheffield and N. Clark) the first weekend of June with a possible extension at another theatre TBD. Possible collaboration with national LGBT rights organizations and initiatives.

The new play, directed and written by Mark Blane, has several components: a live play, an online viral campaign and movement, and a book.

Set in a waiting room in a school, the small ensemble of characters are awaiting their turn to enter the principal's office to receive their punishment. This dramedy depicts the 'lost generation' of the gay suicides.

Seeking actors ages 20-35, all types

Looking for diverse and interesting performers with strengths in 'harsh material', text, and movement.

Time Commitment:

Vet Art Project Chicago will be hosting a Community Showcase March 21, 2012 at the Chicago Cultural Center. Vet Art Project Chicago Showcases are a one night event held at the Chicago Cultural Center in which we exhibit the artwork of veterans and artworks which speak to and about the veteran experience. We host both professional artists as well as veteran artists, veterans, family and friends of veterans who have been affected directly or indirectly by the war.
Women Veterans have a distinct experience in the military whether they are in the Marines, Army, Navy, or Air Force, and we would like to recognize their experience. Guiding Principles:

We exist to foster a community where research is the basis for artistic discovery. The Attic provides a forum for creation through the lens of various disciplines and aesthetics. We believe in the power of the creative process, that experimenting leads to innovation, and that a strong collaboration lays the foundation for greatness.

A Call To Artists:

The Attic is looking for artists across a wide variety of disciplines, experiences and viewpoints to be a part of the launch of this project. We will meet bi-monthly, 7-9pm on Wednesday evenings, beginning March 7th. Focusing on American culture in the 1950’s and 60’s, this group will research, discuss and create work under the guiding principles listed above.

Looking for someone to coordinate costumes for the first act of Pericles for a small festival performing at the end of March. This particular project will present special challenges as there is very limited budget to costume 5 actors - many of the pieces will have to be borrowed from other sources. Currently we do have access to some stock, but others will most likey have to be sought out.

I am intersted in a very creative design so there is lots of room for flexibility and the kind of looks that would look very interesting in a portfolio. The idea candidate is a true collaborator with experience solving problems on a small budget.

Program Grant funds provide artistic and operational support to established organizations that make a significant local, regional, or statewide impact on the quality of life in Illinois. This grant is available to registered Illinois not-for-profits with arts programming of high quality that is accessible to all participants, and is appropriate to and reflective of the communities they serve. Fiscal Year 2013 Program Grant supports activities occurring between September 1, 2012 and August 31, 2013.

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

This 8 week master classes will focus on active scene analysis and study of the assigned playwright’s monologues and scenes. Students will work on individually assigned pieces with a focus on structure and movement. Using TUTA’s approach to devising a unique process for each project or workshop, these classes will help you learn the language of theatrical space and discover how an impulse triggers movement, and a movement expresses emotion and tension.

All master classes are limited to 12 students each and require a H/R submission for consideration.

The Beverly Arts Center of Chicago's Professional Theatre Series will be holding auditions for their next professional show.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Auditions: Saturday, February 25th beginning at 1pm at the Beverly Arts Center

Please prepare a monologue no more than 2 minutes long and an upbeat Broadway song. A callback may be required.

Looking for 5 males and 4 females (Adults only/age flexible)

Non-equity/Pay for rehearsal period and per performance

Performances May 4th - May 13th (7 Performances)
