In honor of Chicago Artists' Month we are proud to present an installation piece by Claire Ashley. In "Bedrock: the Stuff of Life", the artist layers large amounts of material from her life to create a bedrock or foundation of stuff, a poetic portrayal of domesticity, familial support, and nurturing. There will be an Artist Talk October 18 at 2pm.

This year, in conjunction with its 25th Anniversary, Highland Park's Port Clinton Art Festival (Aug. 23-24), and the launch the 1st Annual Port Clinton Film Festival (Aug. 21 –24), and 2nd Annual Taste of Highland Park (Aug. 22-24) combine for a phenomenal “Great Art, Great Taste” celebration on the North Shore. Visitors to the Port Clinton Art Festival will be treated to a virtual feast for the eyes as they stroll past booth upon booth of spectacular work from 260 world class artists. Live demonstrations abound and as a special treat, visitors can watch artist Al Lachman and Long Looi Lee work in tandem to create a large scale masterpiece painting, watch glass creations take form at the on-site hot glass studio of Daniel Mardar, catch live sculpture demonstrations by the Fine Art Studio of Rotblatt-Amrany or view works by two dozen featured youth artists. more...

Throughout the three-day 51st Gold Coast Art Fair more than half a million visitors will stroll through 11 city blocks in the heart of Chicago's chic cultural neighborhood to indulge their senses in magnificent fine and functional art by more than 350 professional artists from as near as the City and as far as Israel. Visitors can watch artist Jonas Gerard paint to music, catch live sculpture demonstrations by the Fine Art Studio of Rotblatt-Amrany see other artists demonstrate their unique talents, or listen to live music ranging from acoustic rock to smooth jazz, or relax with a wine and food tastings courtesy of Chef John Caputo’s and guest chef Ted Allen ("Queer Eye for Straight Guy") Blue Frog Restaurant.
