On view from November 22 - 29, opening night takes place November 22 from 6 - 9pm.  Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday 12 - 6pm, or by appointment.

[Chicago] within(Reason: a contemporary art and photo space is proud to host works by Laura Cutler in a solo show opening Nov. 14.

Laura received her BFA in Ceramic Sculpture from Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles, in 1996. “After three years teaching and working in my Venice beach studio, I left for NYC to attend the New York Academy of Art to increase my knowledge of human anatomy in both sculpture and painting. In 2006 I decided to dedicate my full attention to oil painting and in 2007 received an Individual Artist Grant from the Indiana Arts Commission.”

Exploring the dialogue between art and energy, Deadline Projects presents Electric, a one-night-only multimedia art exhibition at Happy Dog Gallery located in the heart of Wicker Park.  Participating local artists display new works in painting, photography, sculpture, stencil, collage, and video in an event designed to stimulate their audience.  Electric is free and opens to the public on Saturday, November 15th, from 6pm to 11pm.  Live music will be provided by Moment Sound.

Friday, August 1st, 2008 Closing Reception and Film Screening A reception for Fred Camper's one person show will be held 6 pm to 10 pm, to be followed by a showing (only the second public screening ever) of his two hour silent super-8 film, "SN" (1976-84). Admission is free. The gallery is air-conditioned and provides ample floor seating, but chair space is limited. Those specifically requiring a chair, please contact the gallery at least 24 hours in advance. Doors will open at 6 pm, at which time Camper's exhibit will be available for viewing.
