Local musicians ANTHONY MOLINARO and MICHAEL RAYNOR bring us a unique program for piano and drums. Molinaro, a classical and jazz virtuoso, is acclaimed for his "edge-of-the-seat brilliance" and "musically imaginative mind," and is an avid composer. Raynor, one of Chicago's most in-demand drummers over the last 15 years, has performed and recorded regularly with greats such as Von Freeman and Kurt Elling.
"A poet of the trumpet," BOBBY LEWIS "for nearly 50 years has seduced Chicago audiences with the muted, silvery lyricism of his playing." (Howard Reich) Pianist JIM RYAN has collaborated with such greats as Al Jarreau, demonstrating superior artistry and sensitivity. Hear these two masters perform with bass as the Bobby Lewis Jazz Trio.

We are excited to introduce Design Dance's first summer camp for young dancers. This week-long experience will give students the opportunity to experience a multi-faceted dance education and will focus on the core elements of the Design Dance message. Instructors will spend time educating students on proper technique and form in various styles while also introducing them to a variety of forms of dance from a choreography perspective. Each day, dancers will also be asked to create their own works of movement art using the various styles and music they've been introduced to that day. Dancers will be encouraged towards a feeling of community between themselves and their peers and grow in their understanding of respect, positive encouragement and self-expression. The camp will conclude with a showcase of the dancers' work for their friends and family. We look fo more...
Don't miss out on a special Community Café Friday, June27th at 6pm in the heart of Southside Chicago's historic Bronzeville neighborhood at the Parkway Ballroom. Join us as we explore the spiritual drive and motivating factors for art from a diverse group of performers. From the Native American Hip Hop music of Culture Shock Camp to the boogaloo dance and movement styles of Robot M.A.F.I.A (Masters Aligning Forces Influencing All) to the Nu Jazz Sitar sound of Renegade Sufi, we hope to share a glimpse of these artist's spiritual expressions with all in attendance. Of course we will also showcase Chicago local artists with a theatrical piece by EthnoSis, a short musical set from Chicago's own Imam William Bilal, and an IMAN Art Installation.
Make sure to attend this one of a kind event and bring a friend!
