Peanut Gallery is an artist-run exhibition and studio space in Humboldt Park, Chicago, specializing in showing ambitious new work by local emerging artists and connecting people with one another through workshops, screenings, artist talks and forums. Our goal is to nurture a vibrant, inclusive creative community, while encouraging questioning of established norms and good-spirited mischief.. We are not interested in propagating art-school cliques, but instead creating an inclusive, anti-elite environment. Monthly exhibitions vary from PG-curated group shows to more interactive, experimental exhibitions curated by guest artists, as well as the occasional, traditional solo-show. We also host sporadic live-music shows and performance art events. We aim to facilitate unconventional thinking and friendships and foster a creative culture based on community involvement and participation.
