Stridulate Audition/Workshop
Sunday, September 7
2:30-5pm
at Links Hall, 3435 N. Sheffield Ave, second floor
Stridulate is presented by Chicago-based performance group Synapse Arts Collective, and co-directed by Rachel Damon (of Synapse) and multidisciplinary vocalist and performer Dan Mohr.
We'll be investigating the partnership of voice and movement in this free workshop, and invite those who are interested in the work to treat it as an audition. All are welcome; ideal project participants will have performance experience in either voice or movement, and at least some experience in the other field.
The ensemble will meet weekly throughout the year for experimentation, play, and the collaborative development of a hybrid performance that treats the voice and the moving body as a single instrument.
Paid performances in early summer 2009, with touring potential beyond.
Rehearsals Monday evenings, starting 10/6.
Reserve your place by emailing rachel@synapsearts.com.
To
audition: please bring a resume and contact information for two
professional references. Further information on what to prepare
available by email.
This project is funded in part by CROSSCUT. Crosscut is a partnership of two organizations, Experimental Sound Studio and Links Hall, supporting new collaborations between local movement and sound artists.
