The CTA Arts in Transit Program invites Chicago, Regional,
National and International Artists to apply
The selection process for the commission of original artwork for the Belmont Station of the Chicago Transit Authority is underway. Sculpture of durable materials, suspended sculpture, mosaic murals and large scale paintings to be transferred onto ceramic tiles are ideal mediums for this project.
Members of the community serving the Belmont station have expressed an interest in artwork which reflects the history, diversity, and distinctive characteristics of the Lakeview community.
Please apply to The CTA Arts in Transit Program Artist Registry and note your interest in being considered for this specific project. Applications can be found below, in the CTA Arts in Transit Program section or by calling 312.742.1161.
If you have previously registered with the Public Art Program or the CTA Arts in Transit Program, please inform us of your interest for consideration for this specific project, via email: public.art@cityofchicago.org or by calling 312.742.1161.
The deadline for application to the Artist Registry or to notify the CTA Arts in Transit Program of your interest in this project is September 1, 2008. Application may be submitted via mail or delivery during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm).
The Program offices are located on the 4th floor of the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 East, Washington Street, Chicago IL 60602.
