Saturday June 21, 7-10 pm at the Hyde Park Art Center
The Art Center will host a Dance Party on the plaza to celebrate the
month-long exhibition of "Videodance." The evening includes live dance and
music performances and art demonstrations. Featured acts will be "Pure
Magical Love is The Capricorn" and "Michael Perkins." ThinkArt will
present artist David Gista, who will be demonstrating his technique of
drawing with torches.
From 3-10 pm we are hosting another uncurated open call, "Clothesline,"
for any and all artworks dealing with the theme of movement. All works are
accepted and displayed in the 4833 resource library and outdoor plaza.
Also at 6 pm Michèle Bargue, curator of "Videodance," will discuss the
festival format and how dance films have evolved over the past 20 years.
