Artist Michael Genovese will transplant his studio in the pedway of the
Chicago Cultural Center (May 1st -June 30th, 2008) as a second phase of his on-site interactive project realized at the Museum of
Contemporary Art Chicago earlier this year. Chicagoans in transit are invited into an artists' studio that welcomes interaction, collaboration, and contemplation. The general public is encouraged to partake in the process by carving their hopes and aspirations, complaints, or confessions onto designated plates of aluminum. The project intends to record a range of perspectives and culture native to Chicago through an art making practice. The collection of work will be exhibited in art galleries and institutions in various regions of the country, showing the unique and dynamic personality of Chicagoans and it's visitors.
