Organization Description:

Yollocalli Arts Reach, a youth initiative of the National Museum of Mexican Art, is an arts education and career-training program for youth between the ages of thirteen and twenty-one. Yollocalli is designed to serve youth and their respective communities by developing students’ appreciation for and understanding of art. It is committed to the production, interpretation, and exhibition of art and providing an open forum for experimentation, collaboration, and dialogue about issues in the arts, history, and their community. Free classes are held in our Pilsen art studio and in different satellite locations throughout Chicago.

Mural Stories - The history, present state and future of murals
Yollocalli Arts Reach presents 7 great artists who have all contributed to the murals in the community, coming together to discuss the history, the present state and the future of murals. Please join us in this discussion as we talk about the role of murals and their importance in the community. Each artist will present their own work with murals as well as answer questions from the audience.
Featuring: Maria Gaspar, José Guerrero, Monique Moreno, Pablo Serrano, Robert Valadez, Roy Villalobos, and Jeff Zimmermann
