High-end downtown Chicago art gallery seeking qualified, professional, responsible individual to fill the position of SHIPPING COORDINATOR/ ART HANDLER.  Position requires individual who is motivated, detail-oriented and able to multi-task. 

Position: Part Time and Permanent
Compensation:  $15 - 20 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities: 

- Installation and de-installation of artwork for exhibitions, private gallery viewings, offsite viewings, art fairs, etc.

- Coordinating artwork shipments with outside carriers, galleries, handlers, etc.

- Packing artwork including crating and uncrating large and heavy works.

- Maintaining gallery including painting, spackling, lighting for exhibitions, etc.

- Ordering gallery supplies

- Assisting with mass mailings

- Maintaining storage area

- Other gallery errands as needed
Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

This is a part time position, but a  flexible schedule is preferred as 20 hours/week are guaranteed, but more may be needed during especially busy periods. Individual must be able to correspond with clients in a professional manner.  Individual must also have prior art handling experience, a minimum of 3 references and be able to lift 70 lbs. Position will begin late May/early June.
