DUTIES: Under direct supervision, shall serve as on-site coordinator of the Family Fun Festival under the direction of the Manager of Programming for Millennium Park. Coordinators shall be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the festival, including (but not limited to): assisting program partners in engaging children and families in activities; organizing supplies and materials; daily coordination of performances at the performance stage; overseeing loadin/ accommodations of performers at the performance stage; work to ensure a “festival” atmosphere is apparent 7 days a week; oversee the daily opening and closing of the festival (10am – 4pm); daily interaction with public (parents); ensure that the public follows the “rules and regulations” of the festival; promote upcoming festival events; fill out daily status report information and communicate that information to the appropriate parties as assigned; and performs related duties as required. 2008 STARTING SALARY: $11.00 per hour
Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED certificate. Two years experience performing high volume public contact work and/or customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Experience with children strongly preferred. Experience in the early education, art education, and hospitality industries are also preferred. As of the date of the application, candidates must have reached their twentieth birthday. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Ability to be courteous and professional at all times with the public. Available to work evenings and weekends. Position is assigned outdoors at Millennium Park. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: An applicant must be an actual resident of the City of Chicago. Proof of residency will be required at the time of application.
