The Box Office Assistant performs part-time box office operations at the DCA Box Office, including: Storefront Theater, Studio Theater, and other DCA events as they occur. S/he is responsible for: providing customer service, handling customer situations, gaining knowledge of ticket selling operations, opening and closing the box office, performing financial transactions, handling cash, receipts, reporting regularly to the Box Office Coordinator. The House Manager’s responsibilities include set-up and cleanup of theater lobby, light housekeeping duties in the theater, ushering of patrons into the theater, coordination of reserved and late seating and supervision of volunteer ushers. Candidate must also be conscientious of safety and building regulations, and must communicate appropriately with the stage manager and box office manager prior to show time to ensure timeliness of each performance.
Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

Qualified individual must have excellent customer service skills, some previous experience in theater arts, excellent oral and written communication skills and good computer skills. An applicant must be an actual resident of the City of Chicago. Proof of residency will be required at the time of application.
