In the first set, Anderson on tenor saxophone and Bankhead on bass, revisiting the duet dynamics evidenced in their recent Ayler Records cd, "The Great Vision Concert," which documents their now-legendary 2003 Vision Festival performance in New York. The second set is Index Orkest, featuring Jason Adasiewicz, vibraphone; Jeb Bishop, trombone; Jamie Branch, trumpet; Tim Daisy, drums; Fred Lonberg-Holm, cello/electronics; Nate McBride, bass; Dave Rempis, alto & baritone sax; Ken Vandermark, tenor sax, bass & Bb clarinet; and Greg Ward, alto sax. Good guy Mitch Cocanig and Musician Ken Vandermark will dj betwixt and between. 'Creative Genius' Fred Anderson in a duet

Fred Anderson and Derick Polk. 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Harold Washington College, Lake and Wabash. Free. Humanifestoh is an annual festival of  the Humanities and Music Department at Harold Washington College. Each year the department chooses a different theme and honors a member of the Chicago artistic community. This year's theme is Creative Genius and they are honoring Fred Anderson, internationally renowned musician and owner of the The Velvet Lounge.
Mr. Anderson will be honored with the award at the college (located at 30 E. Lake St.) in room 1115 (11th floor) on Thursday, April 17 at 2:00pm. The event is free and will begin with a brief interview. This will be followed by a performance by Mr. Anderson and bassist Derick
