Join us for special night of concerts, jams, sing-alongs, dancing and DJs. Bring along your drums, voices, instruments and dancing feet and participate in an all night live musical excursion for peace and cultural understanding. We are bringing together musicians with various styles and cultural flavors to celebrate diversity and to send out harmonizing energy through the night and into the morning. Cuban flavored soul, funk, calypso and reggae, alongside Classical Indian ecstatic sitar music and late night African talking drums circle plus much, much more promise that this is not a night to miss.
This unique night of music is part of the Daniel Pearl World Music Days global concert network. You may remember the story of the Wall Street Journal reporter, Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and murdered in 2002. Since then his family has set up a foundation to continue his mission and promote his love of music while addressing the root causes of this tragedy and the many others like it that occur daily because of cultural intolerance.
In October 2002, the first Daniel Pearl World Music Days took place with over 100 concerts in 18 countries. Last year, 537 concerts in 42 countries commemorated the universal power of music to bring people together to celebrate cultural diversity and to promote harmony for humanity. These events now span two weeks of worldwide "Harmony for Humanity" concerts.
