Paid internship assisting in the planning and execution of the Chicago Cultural Center’s diverse classical and family programs.

 

Responsibilities:

Works with the Program Coordinator in planning and administration of free classical and family programs at the Chicago Cultural Center including Classical Mondays, Sunday Salon Series, Vocal Journeys, Hallowed Halls and the Dance-Along Nutcracker.

Duties will include:

 Concert management

 Maintaining artist submissions, organizing and attending review sessions

 Liasing with classical artists and organizations; collecting and compiling artist

information and creating recital programs

 Research projects to support event planning

 Evaluating classical programs

 Proofreading and writing marketing and PR copy

Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Thorough knowledge of and interest in music
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented, personable, able to work independently and as a team member
  • Experience working with artists and non-profit organizations preferred

NB: Intern candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and live in the city of Chicago. Employment is offered through the Chicago Cultural Center Foundation.
