SEEKING WOMEN ARTISTS, PERFORMERS, MUSICIANS AND EDUCATORS!
Redmoon Theater Dramagirls Mentors Needed!
Dramagirls is an arts-based mentoring program that pairs Chase Middle School students with female artist mentors in an intensive exploration of creativity and leadership. Founded on the principle that “Powerful Actions Create Powerful Girls,” the program uses components of Redmoon’s unique form of spectacle theater making, such as stilt-walking, acting, ritual-making, drumming, and symbolic movements, to lead girls in the creation of an original production based on stories of their own lives.
The program’s mentorship element allows the girls to foster unique and individual relationships with professional female artists, whose expertise represents a variety of artistic disciplines, such as theater, dance, visual arts and music. We are looking for inspired, excited, committed women to join our mentorship team.
The program runs January through May. Participants meet every Monday in Logan Square from 6 to 9 PM, and work toward creating a public event in mid-May. The meetings offer space for girls and women to share, learn and make art together.
If you are interested in volunteering as a mentor with Dramagirls, please email dramagirls@redmoon.org, or call:
