What is a Polling Place Administrator?
Polling Place
Administrators are assigned by the Chicago Board of Elections to assist
the Judges of Election. They receive extensive training in the
operation, set up and trouble shooting of electronic voting equipment.
They are assigned to polling places, which in some cases, may have
multiple precincts. The Polling Place Administrator is not an election
judge, but rather provides technical support to the polling place on
Election Day.
If you would like to work in a polling place in the City of Chicago you should submit an application to serve as a Polling Place Administrator. Your training(required) will be provided by the Chicago Board of Elections. You will be assigned to a polling place in Chicago, and you will be paid by the Chicago Board of Elections.
Payment: All PPAs will receive a stipend of $300 for successfully completing the required training, picking up your PPA packet before Election Day, and serving at your assigned polling place on Election Day, November 4, 2008, from 5:00am to approximately 10:00pm. If you do not fulfill these requirements you forfeit your stipend and the opportunity to serve on Election Day.
