Assistant Project Manager for large-scale art performance

An Assistant Project Manager is needed to help organize and facilitate a large scale art performance and parade float designed by Chicago-based artist Ben Fain. The project entails a massive float with a fully-furnished bedroom scene, a large rotating pizza-pyramid, 70 dancers dressed in full-body rat costumes, and music by the Bucket Boys.The event will take place in the 12th Annual North Halsted Halloween Parade on October 31st. The intern will play an integral part of the process of producing the massive parade float and organizing the 70 choreographed dancers. They will be required to help with details of the project, such as keeping in contact with the artist and the project manager, as well as other partners such as the choreographer, performers, the accountant, etc. This is a great opportunity to see what it takes to create and perform a large-scale event and the intern will be involved in both the creative and business processes. Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

You must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge in Photoshop would be helpful, but is not required. It would also be helpful to be able to operate basic woodshop tools, such as a table saw and electric drill. You must be comfortable with making phone calls and being able to work alone unsupervised. Having a cell phone and computer is required. Having a car would be helpful, but it is not required.
