Auditions - Do you love to sing and meet new people?

The Elgin Choral Union is seeking experienced singers in all voice parts, especially tenors and altos, with sight-reading ability and Tuesday night availability for rehearsals. 

Presenting three subscription concerts annually at Elgin’s Blizzard Theatre, ECU is a professional, volunteer organization entering its 62nd season.  In residence at Elgin Community College’s main campus, facilities are accessible by several highways including 90, 20, and 34 as well as the Milwaukee District metra.

Dedicated to the highest standards of excellence in creating and performing choral music for the joy, enrichment, and education of our membership and our audiences, we welcome all singers age 17 and older who qualify by audition.  As the oldest performing arts organization in the Fox River Valley, the ECU is composed of over 100 singers ranging in age from 17 to 79 and coming from over 30 surrounding communities. 

Auditions for the 2008-2009 season will be held:

Tuesday, August 19 and Thursday, August 21

Auditionees are asked to prepare and bring three copies of one song.  An accompanist will be provided.  You will be asked to participate in rhythm and vocal exercises to evaulate pitch, range, intonation etc.  In addition, your sight-reading abilities will be assessed.
