About Stridulate:
Rachel Damon (of Synapse) and multidisciplinary vocalist and performer Dan Mohr are embarking on a year-long project partnering the body and voice.
As co-directors, each of us will lead the ensemble from our home
disciplines- locomotion for Rachel and the vocal realm for Dan- with
the intent to entwine these two bodily practices to such an extent that
they become interdependent.
We'll be investigating our burgeoning findings in this free workshop, and
invite those who are interested in the work to treat it as an audition.
We're building an ensemble of 5-7 members to meet weekly throughout the year to experiment, play, and collaborate, developing a hybrid performance in which the voice and body are conjoined as equal players.
Rehearsals Monday evenings, starting October 6.
PAID performances in early summer 2009
Reserve your place by emailing rachel@synapsearts.com.
Questions also welcomed.
Please be prepared to provide contact information for two professional references.
Thank you to Stridulate supporters: Experimental Sound Studio, Links Hall, Hyde Park Art Center, and Chicago Moving Company.
