Historic yet hip and cutting edge, Chicago’s Wicker Park and Bucktown district offers a variety of lifestyle options…distinctive art, acclaimed restaurants and a trendy music scene to name just a few.Reflecting the eclectic neighborhood is the annual Wicker Park Fest, July 26 – 27.Showcasing the diverse area for a fifth consecutive year, Wicker Park Fest 2008 is presented by the Wicker Park & Bucktown Chamber of Commerce and Big Creek Productions.Proceeds benefit the Wicker Park & Bucktown Chamber of Commerce.Over 40,000 people attended in 2007!Described as a scaled-down “Pitchfork Music Festival,” Wicker Park Fest is packed with spirited alt-indie music programming that takes place continuously on two stages. Wicker Park Fest willalsofeature great food from local restaurants as well as unique arts & crafts from over 70 local Chicago vendors.Visitors can shop for hand-crafted pottery, one-of-a-kind jewelry, hand-blown glass, fine art, unique clothing and sculpture. A couple of participating restaurants are Salud and Smoke Daddy.Wicker Park Fest is held on Damen between North Avenue and Schiller Street.This year, the festival will be expanded down Wicker Park Avenue too.The event is easily accessible by the Blue Line and just minutes from downtown Chicago.Hours are 12:00 noon – 10:00 p.m. both days and the gate donation is $5.Proceeds benefit the Wicker Park & Bucktown Chamber of Commerce.For more info, go to www.wickerparkbucktown.com or call the Chamber at 773.384.2672.
